Sylvester Smith

Sylvester has been working in the counseling profession for over 16 years. His area of expertise is People With Disability, children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups. In his work, he utilizes an eclectic style of counseling, and he exclusively supports family system therapy, person centered and solution focus therapy. He believes that family interactions and communication patterns are important to understanding current issues. He looks at evidence-based approaches as tools to help you reach your goals with the intentions of long-term growth and change.

In addition to his licenses and certifications, Mr. Smith has advanced training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and training in Seeking Safety, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. He also carries an abundance of Continuing Education Credits to stay abreast of changes in the field.
